Meet Mackenzie

Hi Girls, It’s Mackenzie
(James, Banks, Drews, Mcmahon)???

Being a canvas ugc creator is kinda like having fifty aliases. But since you’re in our community now, I’m known off my canvas ugc accounts as Mackenzie Marsh.

I was a PR major who became fascinated by the creator economy and how much power lived in digital storytelling. I tried influencing, affiliate marketing, and traditional UGC because I wanted to understand the space from the inside.

But when I started looking into how brands were using canvas ugc I learned that app founders were on dating apps trying to find creators. That was my moment. I realized how early and scrappy this industry was and how badly it needed creatives & let’s be honest WOMEN. What started as content turned into strategy conversations, founder calls, and real opportunities inside brands. That’s when I knew I had found my lane.

At the core of everything we do is community. I believe women grow faster when they build together. When they share ideas, support each other, and stop feeling like they have to figure everything out alone.

This work matters to me because I have lived both sides. I know what it feels like to be curious, scrappy, and unsure where you fit. I also know what happens when you realize your creativity has value in places you never expected.

How This Journey Started

The Breaking Point
At 21 I did what all good college grads do & went and got my first big girl job. The thrill of landing my first job lasted for about one week… By week two I was hiding airpods binging every “you know your life is bigger than this” podcast while working. In between selling power tools & doing demo days at your local home depot, I spent every fair second learning about or creating content.
The Desire
I didn’t want a corporate ladder. I wanted freedom. I wanted control over my time. I wanted a life that didn’t feel like it was shrinking me. I knew the traditional path was not for me, even if I didn’t yet know what the alternative looked like.
The Breakthrough
Everything changed when I realized content could actually give me that freedom. And the moment that really sold me was when I found out I could post from accounts that were not my personal accounts and still make money. That was the dream. I could post what I wanted, when I wanted on my own Instagram and TikTok, while building income through my Canvas accounts in the background.
The Proof
I was traveling through Asia telling my friends I was making money from content and they were so confused because they saw no ads on my personal page. It felt like a secret world. Total freedom. Total control. No pressure to turn my life into a brand just to survive. From there, I never looked back.
The Realization
But the more I built, the more I realized how many women were craving exactly what I had found. A way to create, earn, and live freely without selling their entire identity online. There was no roadmap for this. No one teaching it. No community built around it.
The Mission
So I built The Creator Current. I wanted to create the thing I wish I had when I was sitting in my car after work, dreaming about something more. A clear path. Real skills. And a community of women who are building instead of just wishing. Today, I get to watch women quit jobs they hate, travel, become moms on their own terms, and finally believe their creativity is worth something. Every time it happens, I think about that girl in the Home Depot parking lot and how far this journey has come.
